9th Street Games has officially entered the market with 13 casino games, built around a strategy that puts new game formats ahead of traditional reskins.

The initial portfolio includes nine familiar casino formats rebuilt by the studio, alongside four original titles: Spinball, Gemdrop, Prism and Lootboxes. The company says its goal is to create mechanics that feel different from the content players already see across casino lobbies.

The studio sits within the wider 9th Street ecosystem, which also includes 9th Street Media. Its development team includes people with AAA video game experience, and the company is applying some of that thinking around progression, retention and shareable gameplay to casino products.

A move away from constant reskins

One of the clearest parts of the 9th Street Games strategy is its promise to keep producing new formats rather than repeatedly changing the theme around existing mechanics.

Harry Layton, Founder of 9th Street Group and Co-Founder of 9th Street Games, said during the launch:

“We don't see game development and distribution as completely separate things. A great game should create moments. If someone hits something huge or something unexpected happens, it should look good enough that somebody wants to clip it and share it.

“That thinking is built into what we're doing from the start. We're early, but having operators already live, a growing integration pipeline and a constant flow of new concepts gives us a strong platform to build from.”

The studio is also allowing operators to customise colours, branding, sound and copy across its games, while offering fully custom titles for companies that want something exclusive to their own lobby.

That combination gives 9th Street Games two ways to compete: familiar games that operators already understand, and new formats intended to give them something different to market.

Early performance at 96.com

9th Street Games has also shared results from an early test with crypto casino 96.com, which it describes as its flagship launch partner.

According to company-reported data, its games were tested against content from an existing third-party provider using the same player base. The studio reported a 52% increase in bets per session, 38% higher turnover per active player, 34% more active days per user and a rise in retention from 30.8% to 43.4%. The company states that the performance data was shared with permission from 96.com.

Separate launch coverage also reports that 96.com and Yoller.com are already live with the studio, with further operator integrations either active or underway.

Built for distribution as well as gameplay

The studio is also leaning on the wider 9th Street business for distribution. Operators can connect game launches with 9th Street Media’s social, creator and streamer network, giving the company a marketing layer alongside the actual game development.

All 13 launch titles are described as provably fair, while the studio says its RNG is certified by iTech Labs. The games can be accessed through a range of casino aggregators or through direct integration.

For 9th Street Games, the bigger test will now be whether its monthly release model can keep producing genuinely different formats at the pace it has promised.
