With SiGMA Rome 2026 approaching, their updated tagline, “Advancing Regulated Gaming,” is close to being witnessed live. 65 regulatory bodies are expected to attend the summit, bringing the people responsible for shaping gaming regulations into the same space as operators and industry stakeholders.

As Eman Pulis, Founder of SiGMA Group, previously said on iGaming Real Talk: “We are bringing governments and the industry together because we strongly believe that the only way to go for the sector is to regulate and embrace responsible gaming.”

Taking place from 2 to 5 November at Fiera Roma, the summit will bring together regulatory authorities from Africa, Europe and the Americas to discuss licensing, illegal gambling, compliance, player protection and the challenges facing regulated gaming markets.

Africa Leads Regulatory Representation

Africa will account for a significant part of the regulatory gathering, with 34 regulatory bodies expected to participate.

South Africa will be represented by its national regulator and provincial authorities. Other participating markets include Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Tanzania, Mauritius, Senegal, Malawi, Namibia and Mozambique.

The participation comes as African gaming markets continue to develop their approaches to licensing, taxation, consumer protection and enforcement, particularly as online gambling grows across the continent.

Europe and the Americas Join Regulatory Discussions

Europe will have 14 regulators representing 12 countries, alongside the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA). Participating markets include Italy, Malta, Spain, Cyprus, Greece, Denmark and Bulgaria.

The Americas will also feature in the discussions, with representatives from Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Uruguay, Mexico, the United States and several Central American and Caribbean jurisdictions.

The gathering brings together markets operating under different regulatory models, providing an opportunity to compare approaches to licensing, enforcement and responsible gambling.

Illegal Gambling, Enforcement and Compliance on the Agenda

The regulatory programme will run across several sessions during the summit, covering enforcement, cooperation between authorities and the relationship between licensed and unlicensed gambling markets.

On 3 November, European and African regulators will participate in discussions on enforcement challenges, market regulation and cooperation between jurisdictions.

On 4 November, the focus will move to regulatory fragmentation, offshore gambling and consumer protection, including the difficulties created when neighbouring markets operate under different rules.

Dedicated workshops will also cover responsible gambling, emerging technologies, regulatory developments and international cooperation.

Bringing Regulators and Vendors to the Same Table

The participation of 65 regulators also reflects SiGMA's growing focus on Business-to-Government (B2G) engagement.

Through its B2G programme, SiGMA is bringing gaming authorities, policymakers and private companies together to discuss licensing frameworks, taxation, anti-money laundering, compliance and responsible gaming.

For regulators, these meetings provide an opportunity to understand how different markets are approaching similar challenges. For operators and technology providers, they offer direct access to discussions about regulatory priorities and developments.

SiGMA's B2G activities now extend across Europe, Africa, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East, with the Rome summit forming part of that wider programme.

All Roads Lead to Rome

"All roads lead to Rome," said Eman Pulis, Founder of SiGMA Group.

"Operators, affiliates, suppliers, regulators, prediction markets, sweepstakes, trading, blockchain, crypto, fintech and digital marketing come together from 2 to 5 November. SiGMA World is about advancing regulated gaming."

Rome marks SiGMA's sixth event of 2026, following editions in Dubai, São Paulo, Manila, Cape Town and Mexico City.

As covered in iGaming Real Talk's earlier preview of SiGMA World Rome, the summit will combine four industry verticals under one event at Fiera Roma.

Following Rome, SiGMA will conclude its 2026 calendar with SiGMA South Asia in Colombo from 30 November to 2 December.
