About this Episode

In Episode 77 of iGaming Real Talk, Surya speaks with David Khutsishvili, CMO at FortuneJack, about why chasing bigger acquisition numbers does not always create a stronger casino business.

FortuneJack has been operating since 2014 in a crypto casino market where new brands continue to appear. David says trust has been one of the main reasons the company has been able to keep players over time. The team focuses on player relationships, VIP management, loyalty programmes and creating an experience that encourages customers to stay rather than simply acquiring more users.

The conversation also looks closely at streamers and affiliate traffic. David explains why views and screenshots cannot always be taken at face value. Fake views, bots and recycled promotional funds make verification important. FortuneJack uses a dedicated streamer management team, research tools and manual checks before deciding whether a partnership makes sense.

For David, audience size is also not enough. A successful streamer still needs to fit the positioning of the brand. FortuneJack prefers longer-term streamer partnerships and looks at the audience, market and promotional approach before building a deal.

The episode closes with the future of affiliate relationships. David does not believe CPA and RevShare will disappear, but he thinks the relationship between operators and affiliates needs to move beyond individual transactions. His view is that operators should understand the affiliate's market, audience and business model, then build partnerships that can work over the long term.

What the industry is facing

  • Crypto casinos continue to appear with short-term mentalities
  • Many operators lose a large share of players within the first month
  • Streamer views and screenshots can be easily manipulated
  • CPA and RevShare deals can become purely transactional
  • Affiliates and operators often lack a shared understanding of audience and market

What this conversation explores

  • How FortuneJack has stayed in the market since 2014
  • Why trust is one of the biggest retention tools
  • How FortuneJack verifies streamer numbers and avoids fake traffic
  • Why the biggest streamer is not always the right streamer
  • How FortuneJack approaches quality over quantity for players and partners
  • Whether CPA and RevShare are still enough
  • How affiliate deals can move from transactional to relational

About the Guest

David Khutsishvili is the CMO of FortuneJack, a crypto casino brand operating since 2014.

In the episode, David discusses FortuneJack's approach to player retention, streamer partnerships, affiliate management and brand trust. He focuses on building longer-term relationships with players and partners rather than relying only on acquisition volume.

Notable quotes

02:49 - First of all, it is trust. And we always wanted to build trust with our customers. So this is the main idea.

04:28 - It's very easy to fake the views, the bots. The 100 USDT goes everywhere, the same 100 USDT.

06:03 - We always look quality over quantity. We always try to keep only quality players and quality users and to build for them the best experience.

Key takeaways

  1. Trust is one of the biggest retention tools

David puts trust at the centre of FortuneJack's approach to keeping players. Rather than treating acquisition as the finish line, the company continues working on the relationship through VIP managers, loyalty programmes and regular communication. For David, long-term value comes from giving players a reason to continue choosing the brand.

  2. Quality matters more than simply increasing player numbers

David makes a clear distinction between volume and value. FortuneJack does not want to bring in users simply to make acquisition numbers look bigger. The same approach applies to players, streamers and affiliates. The focus is on finding people and partners that can create real long-term value rather than short-lived traffic.

  3. Streamer numbers cannot be trusted without verification

Streamer marketing can look strong on the surface, but David says it has become increasingly easy to manipulate views and activity. FortuneJack uses a dedicated streamer team, research tools and manual checks to understand whether the numbers make sense before investing. The company also prefers partnerships of at least six months rather than treating streamers as one-off promotional channels.

  4. The biggest streamer is not always the right streamer

Large numbers alone do not make someone a good brand partner. David explains that a streamer can be very successful but still be wrong for FortuneJack if their audience or positioning does not match the brand. The team looks at regional reach, authenticity, audience fit and the way the streamer would represent FortuneJack before making a decision. The same principle applies to affiliates.

  5. Affiliate deals need to become more relational

David believes CPA and RevShare will remain common commercial models, but the partnership around those models needs to develop. For him, operators need to understand an affiliate's geography, needs, offers and business model. Instead of simply agreeing on a deal and moving on, both sides should look at how they can build a relationship that continues to work over time.

  1. David

We are one of the oldest crypto casinos, and we always try to keep our quality players.

  2. Surya

Because casinos nowadays are rising like mushrooms. Operators don't even survive the first three years. They lose 60% of the players in the first month. Because it's very easy to fake the views, the bots. The 100 USDT goes everywhere, the same 100 USDT. How do you verify it?

  3. David

So, first of all, we have... We always look quality over quantity.

  4. Surya

What's the real future for affiliates working with operators?

  5. David

I believe that RevShare and CPA are classic brand deal-making, but from the other side, I guess the partnership will be advanced.

Hello and welcome back to another episode of iGaming Real Talk. I'm here at AffPapa Conference in Madrid, and I have with me David from FortuneJack, which is quite an interesting brand, actually, because it has been in the market for a very long time. Almost 12, 14 years?

  7. David

    Yes, 14.

  8. Surya

Fourteen years it has been in the market, and it's a crypto casino. We know how the crypto casino space is. It's very volatile and anything can happen anytime. Usually operators don't even survive the first three years. Which brings me to my question. It's great to be in the market for 14 years for FortuneJack, right? What's the biggest lesson you have learned about keeping the players long term, when most operators lose players, like 60% of the players in the first month?

  9. David

So, first of all, thanks for inviting me to this talk. It's a pleasure. You said it correctly that we are since 2014 on the market, and it's really, I guess, a record.

  10. Surya

Oh, since 2014. I thought about 11. Oh, wow. Okay. Still it's long, I mean.

  11. David

Yes, still it's long. And we are the oldest casino, or crypto casino.

  12. Surya

    Oldest?

  13. David

Yeah, one of the oldest, let's say.

  14. Surya

There are a lot of new crypto casinos.

  15. David

    Yes, yes.

  16. Surya

They come with a very short-term mentality. That's why I wanted to cover how you did it, so it might be helpful for others.

  17. David

So, first of all, it is trust. We always wanted to build trust with our customers. So this is the main idea. The second one is a unique product. We always try somehow to offer to our customers some innovation. Our tagline is also Expect More. You see our tag also that we have written Expect More. That's why we always try to offer something new, some innovation, and also keep in touch with customers.

We have a lot of VIP managers, a lot of programmes, loyalty programmes, some management programmes. All this stuff guarantees for us that we will keep our customers and their lifetime value and loyalty level will be highest. This is the main idea of our project business model.

  18. Surya

That's interesting. Also, your brand has a very good history with streamers. I also heard, you have to correct me if it's wrong, even the founder of Stake was at some point a streamer that was a partner at your crypto casino. Is that true? And how do you build and treat these affiliate and streamer partnerships differently for a win-win in the long run?

  19. David

Okay, good question. Yes, it's true because we had some sponsorships, some streamers, etc. Now they are in different places with different casinos. We have a very simple model with streamers. We try to catch streamers which have some regional coverage or country coverage, and we try to invest in authentic streamers.

  20. Surya

How do you know which is authentic? Because now it's a big topic again.

  21. David

    It's quite challenging, yes.

  22. Surya

Because it's very easy to fake the views, the bots. The 100 USDT goes everywhere, the same 100 USDT. How do you verify?

  23. David

First of all, we have a separate team for streamer management. This is the first one. Second, we invest in research tools. We have many different digital tools. And the third one is a sense check. Our streamer managers are looking, watching, screening the views and impressions. Afterwards, we have some holistic view of streamers, and afterwards we decide. We try to invest in long-term partnerships with streamers as well.

I know it is quite demanding, but we always try to have streamers for at least six months minimum.

  24. Surya

    So six months minimum?

  25. David

Yes. This is the idea. Because we, as FortuneJack, always try to manage our image with streamers. We always try somehow to find the best positioning of streamers and the best positioning from our side in order to combine it and to match it. Maybe the streamer has huge success, but it doesn't match our positioning. For example, innovation, trust and image. So this is the idea.

  26. Surya

It's very interesting. So it's really important to verify. I also hear from a lot of new crypto casinos burning a lot of funds just because they are looking at surface level. It's okay. They send the stats, screenshots. Okay, we go. Then they burn the money, and then they come looking for consultants.

  27. David

Yes. So we always look quality over quantity. We are one of the oldest crypto casinos, and we always try to keep only quality players and quality users and to build for them the best experience. It refers not only to users, but to affiliates as well and to streamers. The main idea is to create for them some special offers, special activation. Not only just we make a deal and that's it. No.

We try to understand their audience, their promotional offers, and afterwards we build for them some success case.

  28. Surya

Okay, that's very interesting. From what I'm hearing, from what you're saying, it's more about building that trust and keeping the trust.

  29. David

    Yes.

  30. Surya

That's essentially what I'm hearing from everything you're saying.

  31. David

    Yes.

  32. Surya

And that's a very important point to focus on for any new casino or anything.

  33. David

Yes, I agree. Because casinos nowadays are rising like mushrooms every day. That's why an older casino like FortuneJack has this advantage, to show them that we have been in the market for a long time and we are proud of that. You can trust us as affiliates, as streamers and as users. Because this is one big ecosystem around FortuneJack, and I am proud of it.

  34. Surya

That's great. That's why it's great to have you here and also cover how you do it. With the market changing so fast, do you think CPA and RevShare deals are going to become obsolete? Or what's the real future for affiliates working with operators?

  35. David

That's a good question. I believe that RevShare and CPA are classic when deal-making. But from the other side, I guess the partnership will be advanced. And I will now specify what I mean. Each affiliate on FortuneJack's side, for example, and each affiliate partner should build one business model. From a transactional model, we should go to a relational model. The idea is that without each other, we cannot build one ecosystem.

That's why we need to understand their needs, their geography, their offers, their business model and somehow find one language in order to build a long-term partnership. This is the idea for me. When I speak to my affiliate managers, I always ask them to find out what the need of the affiliate partner is, what's the need of the streamer, and then build a dedicated offer.

Because we as FortuneJack know that we have been on the market for a long time and we plan to be here for the long term.

  36. Surya

Thank you for joining me as well as sharing your success story and how you do it. What I'm hearing is it's more about trust. It's more about image, and it's also about creating that environment where players feel safe and keep coming back.

  37. David

Yes, for sure. Without this, you cannot create a success story. We know each of our customers, each of our players, each of our users, and we try somehow to build for them the best experience, which is trusted, with a high image and with a good reputation.

  38. Surya
